Big day for our little guy

Today was a big day for our little guy. His glasses came in this morning. He seems to not mind them so far. I think he looks so adorable in them. He reminds us of the little boy from the Christmas Story. He is been smiling so much today. I am sure its because he can see much better.

On top of that we had Braxton's appt at Akron Children's today and found out that the diagnosis is right. He has Spastic Cerebral Palsy and is Diplegic. Meaning its mostly in his lower extremites w/ some in his upper extremites. The hardest part was finding out that my little man is gonna need braces and possibly for the long run. Kids can just be so mean and as a mommy I don't want him to go through that. Good thing he has big brother JD to help him along the way. He is such a happy kid and the doctor did say that it does not look like it has effected him cognitively which is good news. But we really won't know the just of that until he is closer to 2 years old. She put him on some meds, called Baclofen. Its suppose to help relax his muscles so he can do the things that normal babies do like rolling and sitting and crawling. There are some side effects like he could have a seizure and it can make him pretty tired. Which it does seem to be doing. So, we just have to watch the dosage and get the right amount that he needs. He is a tough little guy and I know he will get through this, he is definally our little miracle baby. Looks like we got a long road ahead of us. I guess there is a reason I stay home w/ the boys!! Please keep Braxton in your prayers.

He's so cute in those glasses! You two are great parents and you caught the CP early. Keep up with the therapy. It will do wonders for him!
