Update on Braxton's EEG follow up

Braxton had his EEG on Nov 1st and went pretty good. He didn't like the probes being attached to his head. It was the cool blow dryer they used that kinda scared him the most. Then he didn't want to sleep, he just wanted to play. Finally, he fell asleep and they were able to do the sleep part of the test. He really enjoyed the strobe lights and just giggled away when those flashed.

Today we got the results from his EEG. We saw Dr V, whom is a pediatric neurologist. At first I was scared b/c we learned that Braxtons EEG showed some abnormalities. Dr V. said there was a spike in Braxtons EGG. Which could mean seizers but could also just be from him being premature and having cerebral palsy. From the information that we told DR V. he belives that the spike is just from him being premature. At this time he does not want to treat him with medicine. Which we agree with. .

Braxton actually spaced out while we were there. He informed us that this time it didn't look like a seizure but more of him just zoning out. He suggested we try to ask him questions when he zones out. For instance he said when Braxton zones out to say Braxton this is a red car. Then Ask him - what color was that car. Basically if he responds correctly then he is just zoning. Now if he doesn't know at all, of course you have to do it a couple time. But if he doesn't know then it could be seizer. So, over all we just have to really watch him. As of right now we don't have to follow up with Dr V. If he were to become a daily thing or get worse then we would have to follow up again.

Dr V also explained Braxton's MRI more to us. Which was really interesting. We learned alot more about his brain damage and white mass, which was the cause of his cerebral palsy.

Please continue to keep Braxton in your prayers!! We can only hope that Dr. V is right and that he is only zoning out and its nothing more.

I'm so g;ad Dr V thinks he's just zoning out and isn't overly concerned right now! I'll definitely continue to say prayers for Braxton :o)
