Update on Braxton

So much has happened with Braxton in the past 2 wks that I just wanted to update everyone.

On Dec 2nd we went to see Dr G - a new Eye Dr for Braxton. She was amazing. She believes that vision is more than just healthy eyes and 20/20. We found out that Braxton has a significant Stigmatism and will need to once again get glasses. We go on the 20th to pick them out. After talking to her I really can see now how all the issues we have been having with Braxton are related to him needing glasses. This couldn't be a more perfect time to get this all figured out. Since he is set to start preschool in January through our school district.

On Dec 6th we went back to see Dr R - Braxton's hip doctor. We got GREAT news. His hips are back in the sockets. Which means the hip brace he is wearing at night is really helping. Which also means no surgery for now. So, all those nights that I double check to make sure that Braxtons hip brace is on, are paying off.

Today Braxton had his Botox injections and he did awesome. He did wake up twice during the procedure. Once he just looked around and feel back asleep and then the next time he woke up and said "is this over yet". The sedation Dr said that braxton has a really high metabolism so that was why he was waking up. But they just gave him more meds so he would fall back asleep and not be in any pain. He is such a trooper and did great.

Glasses will make a huge difference, even with the stigmatism, which is what Lily has. She got glasses at age 3 as well! Happy news about the hips..hope that Botox is helping! Happy Holidays!
