Special story "I'll try again" by Grandma Martin 4/3/11

This is a true story I really want to share with all of you -"I'll Try Again". Our little three-year-old great-grandson has cerebral palsy. His little legs are almost useless. He is in therapy, however, and is a real little trouper, working hard day by day to accomplish things that the rest of us take for granted. He has to be supported to even sit in a chair without falling over. At a birthday party for his cousin last week his father said to him, "Braxton, show Grandma how you can sit up by yourself." He laid the little boy on his stomach on the floor. After seven or eight grueling tries, Braxton laid his head on the floor and said, "I can't." My heart broke and I said to him, "Braxton, I'm so proud of you. You have worked so hard and one of these days, you'll make it." He looked up with a big grin on his face and said, "I'll try again." It took three more tries, but when he was sitting upright (very wobbly!) applause broke out all around the room. With the most beautiful smile I've ever seen, Braxton shouted, "I did it!" I think we can all learn a lesson from this precious little boy. When we're tempted to just lay our heads on the floor and say, "I can't", we need to look up and say, "I'll try again!"
